We think: Every now and then, good news is needed. Especially from the world of sports. In our Good News we serve you seven news every week that make our - and hopefully your - sports heart beat faster. Because the news is fun. Because they are trend-setting. Because they show new trends. Because they sprinkle a pinch of absurdity in a much too serious world. Or because they simply bring joy. The main thing is to be in a good mood - that's our motto in this news format. And we get started right away. With  Paul Zipser, the inspiration of the Bayern basketball players, a golden chick, the upcoming pole vault legend. And with a woman who shoots corners like others shoot penalties.

Paul Zipser, Inspiration Also beyond Basketball

We have fevered and hoped - now he is back: Paul Zipser, the superstar of the basketball players of FC Bayern, is back on the field after his serious brain surgery. In Bayern's win against Bamberg, Zipser played a good 13 minutes and scored seven points. There's still room for improvement - we're sure he'll soon be able to stuff his dunks again. Or as Bayreuth's captain Bastian Doreth put it: "I congratulate you on this comeback, this is madness, you won the fight, you are an inspiration."

Reading at Lesser

Reading with Lesser - who wants to learn something about the war against Ukraine in Russia, has it hard. The former German biathlon world champion Erik Lesser now initially left to his Ukrainian colleague .Anastassija Merkuschina for 24 hours his Instagram channel. After that, Ukrainian tennis pro Sergei Stakhovsky, who wrote: "Eric was not hacked. He gave me his account for 24 hours to try to get through to you Russians." Lesser explained his unusual information campaign to ZDF: "I have 30,000 followers from Russia on Instagram, and I don't think the Russian population is fully aware of what's really going on in Ukraine." Part of his Russian followers unfollowed the Thuringian, but the 33-year-old wants to continue to make his Instagram channel available to Ukrainians*.

Bankfurt with Heart

Good that the Lions Frankfurt at the largest banking center in Europe have their venue. After the separation from a Russian major sponsor, several banks and companies local to "Bankfurt" now jumped in as new financiers of the up-and-coming team from the German Ice Hockey League 2. "The spontaneous willingness of the financial center to help is overwhelming and gives us courage, we are therefore very grateful to all involved," said Löwen Managing Director Stefan Krämer. The Frankfurt team won the main round of the 2nd League, with "Peace" written on their jerseys. Now they can play the play offs - maybe a promotion to the DEL will make them permanently attractive as a sponsoring partner for the Frankfurt banks.

The Chick Gets Gold

She is considered the chick of the German biathletes at the Paralympics - now the visually impaired Leonie Walter has sensationally won gold. At the age of 18, she surprisingly won the 10-kilometer biathlon competition in Beijing. In her home community of St. Peter in the Upper Black Forest, this triggered a storm of jubilation: The traditional costume tailor called, former guests of the parents' vacation farm, the senior boss from the grocery store brought a card and even the elementary school teacher called, mother Renate Walter told the "Süddeutsche Zeitung". The golden chick is now already a home legend.

One Centimeter Closer Towards the 7-Meter Mark

He makes us dream of flying again: Armand Duplantis is preparing to become the most important pole vaulter since the Ukrainian Sergei Bubka. With 6.19 meters, the US American, who competes for Sweden, raised his world record by another centimeter. Duplantis is only 22 years old - Bubka was the same age when he became the first person to break the 6-meter mark in 1985. Granted, seven meters is still a long way off. But Armand Duplantis has what it takes to bring more popularity back to the pole vault.

06

Six Seconds Is Not an Eternity

Six seconds are usually an eternity in competitive sports, just not for Anna-Lena Forster. More than this small eternity took the 26-year-old in the super combined of the Paralympics from her competitor Momoka Muraoka in the slalom and therefore won gold. „Ich weiß, dass ich im Slalom gut bin. But that I can make up more than six seconds, I never thought," said the gold winner. Forster spoke of a "roller coaster of emotions." The comparison has rarely been more apt: At first, Forster's roller coaster in the Super G was very slow. But when she then stood at the top in the decisive moment for the slalom, it became really fast.

She Kicks Corners like Other Penalty Kicks

Clearly, a penalty is usually a goal. But a corner? That leads to a scoring chance at best. How cool, on the other hand, how precisely Katie Zelem can ball the ball from the corner flag directly into the goal. The Manchester United midfielder fired a corner straight into the net twice (!) in the recent match against Leicester. Pure coincidence? By no means. Already at the game before gelang Zelem solch ein Kunstschuss. If we were coaches of the next opponent of the ManU women would know that we try to prevent as much as possible every corner.
