The Uvex Sports Group has a Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the first time. Effective immediately, Dr. Michael Dannhauser will fill the new position as commercial director. Together with CEO Christophe Weissenberger, he forms the top management of the subgroup.

Dannhauser assumes responsibility for the management and supervision of the Uvex Sports plants in and outside Germany as well as for finance/controlling, operations and processes. The personnel is a reaction to the separation from CFO Falk Pewestorf in February 2018.

"We are proud of our many years of manufacturing expertise, which makes our products for winter sports, cycling and equestrian sports so safe and innovative," says Michael Winter, Managing Partner of the Uvex Group. "The new position of the COO is even more strongly oriented to the increased demands placed on operational processes in and between our production sites and the functional areas involved in the value chain. With Dr. Michael Dannhauser, we have an experienced commercial managing director at our side who will set new impulses in his area of responsibility and thus advance the Uvex Sports Group in the implementation of efficient processes".

Dannhauser Last Worked for Furniture Company

Previously, Dr. Dannhauser worked for Rosenthal AG in Selb, the Raps Group in Kulmbach and W. Schillig Polstermöbelwerke in Ebersdorf, among others, where he most recently held the position of Commercial Managing Director.

"To implement the quality promise 'Made/Engineered in Germany' credibly is a major challenge that Uvex has mastered with flying colours for many decades," says Dr. Michael Dannhauser. "I look forward to actively supporting the Uvex Sports Group in its mission of protecting people in the future."

The Uvex Group combines the Uvex Safety Group, the Uvex Sports Group (Uvex Sports and Alpina) and Filtral. Two thirds of the 2,800 employees work in Germany.
