Dr. Jan Beringer serves as the Senior Scientific Expert for Hohenstein. In this role, he uses an interdisciplinary approach to lead the development of clothing physiology, fit and workmanship of garments, functionalization of fabrics, textile UV protection and textile reprocessing. He has extensive knowledge in textile and fiber chemistry, functionalization, nanotechnology, coating and finishing and clothing physiology.
Prior to becoming Senior Scientific Expert in 2015, Dr. Beringer began his career as Head of the Competence Center Innovative Textiles at Hohenstein. From 2009 to 2015 he was the Head of Research and Development of the Department of Function and Care at Hohenstein, specializing in research and testing in the field.
Dr. Beringer holds a Doctorate in Natural Sciences in Chemistry with a focus on Textile and Fiber Chemistry from the University of Stuttgart.
