What was the main reason for EGYM to become a sponsor at ISPO Munich this year?

ISPO stands like no other brand for the international sports and sporting goods industry. EGYM benefits from this strong positioning. And just like ISPO, EGYM is rooted in Munich – two successful sports brands sharing one hometown. Our research also shows a strong alignment between ISPO’s professional audience and our product portfolio – from digital fitness solutions to wellness and health. There’s a clear overlap in interests.

Which target groups are you hoping to reach with this sponsorship, and why is ISPO – especially in the innovations hall B1 – the right place for this?

While our primary focus is on business professionals and decision-makers, we’re of course also very interested in connecting with trendsetters and influencers. The more people experience the benefits of the EGYM ecosystem, the more effectively we can realize our vision of shifting the healthcare system from repair to prevention.EGYM is synonymous with innovation. Since 2010, we’ve invested more than $130 million in R&D – $30 million in this year alone. From high-tech strength and flexibility equipment to fully connected training floors, AI-supported training plans, and apps for trainers and members – every year we raise the bar. Not for innovation’s sake, but to create tangible value for operators, trainers, and exercisers.

What specific goals is EGYM pursuing with this commitment – is it primarily about visibility, networking, or also about new partnerships?

All of the above. EGYM combines smart equipment, digital apps, and services with the products of over 200 connected partners – our open EGYM ecosystem. We actively invite industry players, hardware and software providers, and other solution partners to join in. ISPO provides an excellent international platform to extend our outreach beyond our core fitness industry events.

ISPO is a meeting place for international players – how important is the international stage for EGYM in terms of growth and expansion?

EGYM has grown rapidly on the international stage in recent years. Today, our products and services are used in more than 40 countries. We started in the DACH region, expanded into major European markets, and now have a strong focus on the US – the world’s largest health and fitness market. By the way: EGYM is also present in Japan and Oceania.

What role do topics such as digitalization, health tech, and corporate fitness, which are also hotly debated at ISPO, play in this context?

These themes are at the core of what EGYM does! Our vision of the connected training floor dates back to our founding year in 2012. Today, our AI-powered software EGYM Genius creates hyper-personalized training plans – tailored to the user’s fitness level, goals, and available equipment. Genius is driven by more than eight billion workout data points and over 500 million assessment data points. In parallel, EGYM Wellpass has become one of the world’s leading corporate wellness platforms, with 12,000 corporate clients, 17,000 partner locations, and over three million eligible employees.

What does EGYM hope to gain from this year's ISPO Munich – and what are you personally looking forward to the most?

We’re looking forward to meaningful encounters with disruptors and innovators from across the sports ecosystem. Personally, I’m excited for inspiring conversations and fresh perspectives from beyond our core fitness sector.
