In addition to enhancing the team with an experienced professional in a future-oriented area, the staff led by Christoph Rapp, Head of Sales & Marketing, is pleased to announce a significant achievement: EGYM has committed to exhibiting at ISPO and will be showcasing the new hall concept in Hall B1. This innovative hall concept aims to create a more focused and efficient experience for both exhibitors and visitors, featuring clear thematic areas and targeted content.
Florian Flügel, an experienced expert with a degree in health prevention and years of experience working with competitive athletes and providing preventative personal training in the Munich area, will take over responsibility for the newly created Health & Wellbeing segment within the Brands & Products Arena. His expertise and passion for health awareness, preventative thinking, and experience will bring a new dynamic to ISPO.
The 28-year-old acquired his expertise with his diploma in health prevention and brings this to his many years of work with competitive athletes and preventative personal training in the Munich area. "This year, for the first time, we are offering the sporting goods industry the space for the topic of Health & Wellbeing. That's why it was important for us to fill this key position with a strong and highly motivated professional," says Christoph Rapp, explaining his personnel decision.
Flügel completes the team of divisional managers in the sales team alongside Anna Bachem (Team & Racket Sports, Training & Performance), Majka Patuzzi (Sports Fashion, Outdoor Lifestyle), Alexandra Denker (Sustainability, Outdoor Functional), Giuseppina Morza (Textrends, Startups) Marcus Meyer (Sports Tech, Digital Solution Provider) and Ralph Scholz (Fitness, Sports Nutrition, Sports Diagnostics).
Clearer direction for retailers and brands
The team led by Exhibition Director Lena Haushofer announced a fundamental change to the hall structure back in March. The new arrangement along the value chain is designed to simplify planning for Sports retailers during trade fairs and facilitate more targeted connections with suitable partners on-site. "As the leading trade fair in the industry, we are sending a clear signal with this restructuring: we understand the industry's topics and curate them in a way that allows our visitors to navigate, Discover innovations, and gather inspiration quickly," states Haushofer regarding this strategic move.
Christoph Rapp also emphasizes the importance of the concept for the trade fair's long-term strategy: "Only with the help of a clear structure can we future-proof the sports business event, ISPO, and create an attractive offer for all stakeholders in the sports business."
In Hall B1, the growing awareness of the link between sports and health will be represented through a separate themed area. This structure will create targeted connections with the Training & Performance area and cover related topics such as recovery, nutrition, and prevention, in line with the communicated concept.
Organized sports become a focal point
Another focus is on organized sports. ISPO is taking account of the shift from traditional sports venues to holistic health service providers. The entire value chain is represented—from trainers and athletes to clubs and associations. This segment encompasses suppliers of fitness equipment, Sports equipment, and clothing, as well as functional food, supplements, Sports Technology solutions, and sports facility construction.
The integration of the two congress formats — the Trainers’ Summit, and Sports Tech Nation, a platform for managers, innovators, and change-makers from technology and organized sport—fulfills the goal formulated in the concept release of lowering the boundaries between inspiration and information. The Trainers’ Summit offers practical workshops and Seminars for trainers, while Sports Tech Nation provides a platform for discussing and showcasing the latest technological innovations in the sports industry.
EGYM focuses on ISPO—and Hall B1
The new concept has also gained traction with EGYM, a company that exemplifies the intersection of content in Hall B1. EGYM will play a pivotal role in the Health & Wellbeing segment, showcasing its networked Training equipment and solutions for corporate fitness. This combination aligns with current industry trends and needs, as around 10,000 companies in the DACH region, for example, use the EGYM Wellpass to actively support their employees in promoting their health. Jan Scherzer, VP Sales for the DACH Region at EGYM, says: "ISPO stands like no other brand for the international sports and sporting goods industry. EGYM benefits from this strong positioning. And just like ISPO, EGYM is rooted in Munich—two successful sports brands sharing one hometown."
"EGYM's commitment to ISPO and Hall B1 is not just a partnership but A long-term commitment. This is a strong sign of our strategic direction and a clear signal to the sports industry about the stability and growth of ISPO. We are excited to see this partnership flourish in the years to come”, Christoph Rapp, Head of Sales & Marketing, points out.
This year, ISPO will take place at Messe München from November 30 to December 2, 2025. In addition to a new hall structure and an earlier, retailer- friendly date, the trade fair organizers are looking forward to seeing many old acquaintances as well as new faces.
