Reaching for Utopia

The textile industry is sitting in the midst of the perfect storm: global trade wars and tariff threats; the growth of the experiential economy at the cost of fashion; rising consumer concerns over sustainability, wastage and pollution in the clothing industry; changing priorities and new perceptions of luxury amongst younger consumers; everything anti-trade is gaining traction – streetwear, counterfeiting, irony, casualization, protest; renewed fears of recession.
