Sport, fun, expert tips and great events - that's what ISPO Munich Sports Week 2018 is all about: For the first time ISPO Munich together with dedicated retailers, has put together a programme for end cunsumers and all devoted athletes. ISPO.com provides an overview of the highlights that will not take place on the exhibition grounds but downtown Munich - for all sports enthusiasts. Examples: An exhibition with the winning products of the ISPO Award, a Headis tournament, various DIY bicycle tuning workshops and the ISPO Munich Night Run.

The ISPO Munich is the largest trade show for the sports business professionals and closed to the public. This year, however, ISPO Munich is also going downtown - to the end consumer. ISPO is pioneering here too: with the ISPO Munich Sports Week we are bringing the euphoria for sports into the city. In collaboration with retailers and fitness partners, numerous events will take place in Munich during the whole week," said Chairman and CEO Messe München laus Dittrich at the main press conference when he described the updates of the ISPO Munich.

Keller Sports hosts the ISPO Award

For the first time ever the five "Products of the Year" of the ISPO Awards will be presented at the "ISPO Munich 2018th Night of Innovation" inside the Keller Sports Store Munich on January 30th. This means that the best products / new releases of 2018 will be on display in 2018. A very unique opportunity for all sports fans.

"In times of Instagram, Facebook and Co. it is simply an illusion, that the product highlights of the ISPO Munich are not noticed by end consumers until nine months later when they are in stores for the new season," says David Badalec, ISPO Head of Business Solutions. Thus Badalec believes, that it is only logical to present a selection of real highlights in real life to an interested audience.

And that promises to be interesting, because the winners of the "Product of the Year" are usually looking back on several years of invention, design and production, claims the ISPO Head of Business Solution: "If you get a look behind the scenes, you get to discover true engineering skills."

As a consumer, he himself is often facing the decision about which product he should buy: "A quality label such as the ISPO Award – a 42-strong jury of experts backs up the evaluation – is a great orientation and guarantees product quality."

Marcus Trute, Managing Director at Keller Sports, is also enthusiastic about this opportunity: "Together with ISPO Munich, we bring the latest trends in the sporting goods industry into the city and to our customers."

Globetrotter presents Headis, Trickliner and an "Adventure Night"

Just two days before the ISPO Munich kicks off on January 28th, the Globetrotter store in Munich will offer the chance to try out a, for most people, brand new sport for all those interested: Headis, where per head a rubber ball is played across a table tennis table.

This is a lot of fun and also brings excitement for the audience," says Simone Heer, Event Manager at Globetrotter. Every Globetrotter customer can easily join-in and get tips from professionals. Globetrotter also has two more events during the ISPO Munich Sports Week: The best German trickliner will come to the shop on Saturday evening (27.1) . On Monday evening (29.1.) outdoor stars will talk about their adventures during the "Adventure Night" and pass on tips and tricks.

Heer: "Each of our events is designed for visitors to actually participate. Customers can get to know the professionals face-to-face and become part of the sports and outdoor community."

ISPO Munich Night Run in Olympiapark

On Saturday evening, the ISPO Munich Night Run will celebrate its premiere in Munich's Olympic Park. For this trail run there is a 5K and a 10K stretch. The Sport Scheck Trails in Motion Movie Night is the ideal after-race activity. There is a free shuttle service from the night run to the movie night.

Bike Fans' heaven at Rose Biketown

If you're more into cycling than running, check out the Rose Biketown. Between 27 January and 3 February, several workshops will be held there on GPS, breakdown assistance on tour, brakes, gearshifting and MTB tuning.

Everyone who is interested in the subject of bicycles is welcome at the events ", says Storemanager Gebhard Herzog. The workshops are free of charge.

SportScheck and Sport Schuster are also presenting events

Keep a cool head at the shooting range like Laura Dahlmeier and then head straight to the cross-country ski run: this is made possible at the Schuster Biathlon Camp in Oberjoch on January 28th. On the same evening the Sport Scheck Adventure Movie Night takes place.

But Sport Scheck is not only about being in the audience, but also about trying it out yourself: The sports retailer offers an After-workout, a Runner Meet-up Special and Sunrise Yoga. In cooperation with Dynafit, professionals at Sport Scheck are getting everyone ready for their first ski touring adventure this season on February 1st.
