Wet inner tents are a thing of the past. Thanks to innovative technology, Simond has solved this common problem with their single-wall tent.

ISPO Award Winner 2025: Single Wall Trekking Tent 2P UL Condensless von Simond

Users of lightweight single-wall tents are familiar with this problem: When the outside temperature drops and it gets warm inside the tent, condensation forms on the inner wall. Classic tents therefore use double-wall constructions, where the condensation ideally only forms on the outer shell. However, when weight and functionality are priorities, single-wall tents are the only option.

Innovative Condensless technology

To minimize condensation inside the inner tent, Simond presents its newly developed Condensless technology. It consists of a four-layer functional fabric that regulates moisture and minimizes condensation. The material structure combines a breathable, waterproof coating with a lightweight polyester fabric, an aluminum layer, and a water-repellent finish. The aluminum layer in the tent fabric has low emissivity, meaning it radiates less heat. This keeps the tent wall warmer, reducing condensation because the wall temperature remains above the dew point. This prevents condensation in 72% of cases. In comparison, a double-layer tent, such as the Simond MT900 2P, remains condensation-free only 7% of the time.

Low weight, easy to set up

Weighing only 1,550 g (including the bag), this tent is designed for experienced minimalist backpackers and mountain sports enthusiasts.

Its simple Y-shaped architecture ensures stability and space for two people and allows for quick and easy setup, which is a clear advantage in adverse mountain conditions.

The product also excels in sustainability. The reduced amount of material used in the single-wall construction and the high functionality of the durable, condenseless fabric reduce weight and material consumption, thereby lowering the ecological footprint.

What convinced the jury:

  • Low weight at 1,550 g
  • New Condensless technology for condensation reduction
  • Less material consumption
  • Y-shaped, stable architecture and quick setup

Statement from Simond:

"After six years of research, we took on and solved a major technical challenge that had yet to be addressed in the tent market: drastically reducing condensation during bivouac—without the need for a double wall. Seeing our Simond trekking tent, featuring Condensless technology, receive an ISPO Award is a tremendous honor and a meaningful recognition of the human commitment behind this project."
Oriane Gronier, Condensless Technology Project Manager

What the jury said:

"Until now, there was no solution for condensation on the inner walls of the tent - apart from the double wall. With this new technology, Simond is demonstrating a real spirit of innovation and appealing to a target group that is just as concerned about low weight as it is about functionality."
