ISPO Award Winner 2025: The 3-in-1 Dibian Down Jacket by Bosideng

At the heart of this 3-in-1 modular jacket from Bosideng, a Chinese down specialist, is the patented “Dynamic” Thermal Control System. This innovative feature elegantly solves a common problem with urban functional clothing: the rapid change in environment between indoors and outdoors affects the comfort of conventional jackets.

Taking inspiration from the natural cooling mechanism of a bird's spread wings, the inner jacket features adjustable down chambers along the back. Opening the zipper of the faux breast pocket on the inside of the jacket compresses the back chambers and exposes ventilation channels that actively dissipate excess heat. When the outside temperature drops, the chambers can be closed again to provide maximum thermal insulation. Sophisticated moisture management along the spine, supported by breathable materials, maintains a consistent microclimate around the body – whether it's 0°C or 20°C outside.

The modular jacket consists of an outer shell made of PFC-free, elastic Gore-Tex ePE fabric, which was developed exclusively by Bosideng and Gore-Tex. The inner jacket features a lightweight down layer with 800+ fill power – both parts can be worn separately or combined. This allows the system to adapt flexibly to temperatures between 0 and 20 degrees Celsius. The silhouette can be adjusted using a double front zipper to allow for both slim and looser fits – perfect for transitioning from a business meeting to a walk in the park. An integrated shoulder strap system allows for comfortable carrying over one shoulder or on the back when the jacket is not needed.

The jacket has been perfected with an equally sophisticated, ergonomic 3D cut design. Areas subject to intense movement, such as the elbows, underarms and shoulders, have been designed to allow freedom of movement without adding extra bulk.
