Where the ski pass costs little

Cheap ski resorts in Bavaria: Where you can ski cheaply

Winter vacations are not free. On the contrary, the fun on the slopes usually turns out to be more expensive than planned. Many factors have an influence: Travel, accommodation, food and - most definitely - the ski pass. We tell you what you get for your money in the Bavarian ski winter of 2022/23.

No winter sports fan likes to miss out on skiing, but the sporting fun quickly runs into money. Many winter sports enthusiasts have to budget well and are glad that the costs can be scaled. Is the inexpensive vacation home not at least as comfortable as the 5-star hotel? And the self-prepared schnitzel perhaps just as tasty as in the restaurant?

There is only one point where there is no way around the local specifications: the ski pass. We took a look at what a day pass (adult) currently costs in Bavaria - and then put the price in relation to the kilometers of piste.

The differences in the top group are small, about one euro is paid per kilometer of slope. If you take a look at the following places, however, this changes rapidly. In ten of the 53 ski resorts evaluated, the costs rise well above five, and in some cases even above ten euros per kilometer of piste - especially the small ski resorts with up to three kilometers of groomed piste are at a disadvantage in this comparison.

If you are a beginner or a family ski tour and don't care about the size of the ski area, you may still find the best value for money on well-prepared individual slopes. After all, you first have to put 45 euros on the table in Reit am Winkl before you can use the range of slopes.

In eight Bavarian ski resorts, on the other hand, you can wail down the slopes (the hillside) for less than 20 euros a day. Children are even cheaper.
