In comparison to 2015, group revenue rose in the third quarter of 2016 by 14 percent, to 5.413 billion euros. Operating income improved by 11.5% to 563 million euros.
While Reebok confirmed the stable upward trend with 7 percent more revenue, the Adidas brand displayed sustained dynamism with a 20 percent increase in sales. The brand succeeded in a double-digit growth in all markets save for Russia.
“I’m very happy to be CEO of a company that’s in such good shape,” said Rorsted of the positive figures.
The 54-year-old reported other good news for the ongoing fiscal year: “2016 will be a record year in which the Adidas Group will achieve extraordinary results.”
Kasper Rorsted has been a board member since August 1, and superseded Herbert Hainer as CEO on October 1.
