Sports Direct International (SDI), the large British sporting goods retailer and owner of a wide range of sports and fashion brands, continues to invest in the sector. It has now become known that SDI recently bought a minority stake in the American Iconix Group. This company controls a gaggle of labels including Starter, Pony and Umbro and holds licenses like the one for “Peanuts”.

At the beginning of this year, Arne Strate started as director of marketing and business development at the European Outdoor Group. He replaces Mathias Basedow who switched to Icebug, the Swedish footwear manufacturer as country manager for Germany and Austria.
