Hiking as a stuffy activity for spry pensioners - that was yesterday. Sporty young people have discovered this original activity in the great outdoors for themselves and are reinterpreting it in their own way. With the Hiking Active collection, Schöffel provides the clothing for the outdoor trend of summer 2022.

Ski cross superstar Fanny Smith and freerider Roman Rohrmoser love active hiking - and wear lightweight functional clothing from the Schöffel Hiking Active collection.

Hiking is getting younger, more unconventional and wilder. For the new generation of active hikers, the need for experiences and freedom is in the foreground. But the sporting aspect is not neglected either: "When hiking, I try to actively set my steps and get into a state of flow through a fast pace," explains Austrian Roman Rohrmoser, who has made a name for himself in the ski scene as a freerider and works as a mountain bike guide in the summer.

When every step forward pushes everyday issues to the back and thoughts flow, you're on the right path. This feeling is also reflected in the design of the new Schöffel Hiking Active collection for summer 2022. The colour scheme and dynamic cuts of the lightweight functional clothing convey movement and activity. Swiss ski crosser Fanny Smith is thrilled: "When I'm hiking, I want to switch off my head, move freely and at ease - and that's exactly what the new Schöffel collection allows me to do," says the nature-loving 2013 world champion and 2018 Olympic bronze medalist.

Active Deceleration for the New Reality

Smith and Rohrmoser use hiking as an essential part of their winter training program. In addition to the sporting effects, they also enjoy the mental component: "The activity in the great outdoors is a balance from everyday life for me, I can switch off wonderfully," explains Rohrmoser. He is not alone in this, as the Covid 19 crisis has changed many things. By 2022, a new normal is to be hoped for. This changed reality buries the "higher, faster, further" mindset of recent years. Instead, the focus is on striving for more mindfulness, sustainability and appreciation.

Schöffel's product developers, innovation management and design team have taken a close look at how the needs of customers have changed under the pandemic. Schöffel's philosophy of providing people with optimum support and enabling them to enjoy a self-determined experience in the midst of nature has become even more relevant. In the summer of 2022, Schöffel will be celebrating the new balance and sovereignty of all those who shed unnecessary ballast and forge valuable new paths: the desire for the outdoors has never been so great!

Schöffel Hiking Active in Detail

The highlights of the Schöffel Hiking Active collection include the Imada tight for women, the Hestad shorts for men, the Bygstad jacket and the Arucas T-shirt, which comes in different designs and colours for men and women.

The sporty Tight Imada is a women's legging made of 4-way stretch, which ensures unrestricted freedom of movement. An elastic waistband provides extra support and comfort. "The material feels extremely comfortable against the skin," raves Fanny Smith. The nylon and stretch fabric is also extremely durable, so it won't tear right away if you run into a branch. Suitable for the younger generation, the Imada has elastic side pockets with an integrated smartphone holder.

The Schöffel Hestad shorts for men are just as sporty. Their nylon and stretch material is breathable, dries quickly and thus ensures an optimal body climate even during sweaty activity. The 4-way stretch for unrestricted freedom of movement and the elastic waistband ensure that the shorts always fit perfectly, even in rough terrain. So that mobile phone or car keys do not get lost, the outer pockets can be closed with zips.

The third product in the Schöffel Hiking Active collection is the Arucas T-shirt. Thanks to body mapping and 4-way stretch, it offers unrestricted freedom of movement. The sustainable Tencel fibres processed in the material guarantee optimum moisture transport. "The fabric always feels pleasantly soft and cool on the skin," praises Roman Rohrmoser, who also likes the sporty design with mountain motif.

The Bygstad jacket rounds off the collection. The water-repellent and windproof material of the super light and breathable windbreaker guarantees a pleasant body climate on warmer and stormy days. During sweaty activities, the integrated Graphene fibres optimally regulate the body temperature.

The Schöffel Hiking Active collection will be launched in spring/summer 2022. You can find the current Schöffel collection at www.schoeffel.com
