Ambitious runners are not deterred by rain when running outdoors. However, running in the rain often causes discomfort because moisture cannot escape from waterproof clothing.
To solve this problem, Mizuno uses a material with a nano membrane. A specially developed treatment applied directly to the membrane maintains its function and ensures lasting comfort, even in rainy weather.
Mizuno uses a proprietary laminated nano-membrane fabric for the jacket that ensures breathability and comfort, even during prolonged rain. Thanks to a special treatment of the membrane, the jacket stays dry during prolonged rain and retains its functionality. The nano-membrane fabric provides water pressure resistance of up to 10K (JIS-A) and breathability of up to 20K (JIS-B).
The pattern design has also been carefully crafted to prevent water penetration, especially in the hood. It is designed so that water runs off at the sides. The running-specific cut reduces friction and improves freedom of movement. Strategically placed ventilation zones promote airflow and moisture regulation. Reflective details provide additional visibility, and the strikingly soft material minimizes noise while running.
The jacket is made from 75 percent recycled materials. The outer fabric is 100 percent recycled nylon and the lining is 100 percent recycled polyester. Both materials were obtained from post-consumer waste. The only new component is the nano membrane laminated between the two layers of fabric.
The jacket is available in black for men (S–XXL) and women (XS–XL).
