"The Championship" is also to be staged in the terrain of X-Bionic Sphere again in 2019.
Triathletes can qualify for the world championship through Challenge Family events worldwide. The first Challenge race will take place in 2016 in Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands.
Additionally, the Top Five of the Olympic Games in Rio, as well as the Top Three in the Long Distance Triathlon World Championships, ITU World Cup series, and Ironman 70.3 World Championships will also get an invitation. Over 150,000 euros will be given out as prize money.
