Known on YouTube as “mignight snack”, Miguel is a documentary filmmaker, photographer, writer, and climber.
Born in Manila and now based in Amsterdam. he’s pinballed all over the world, shooting films and photos in Paris, London, Los Angeles, Singapore, Mauritius, and even Antarctica to name a few.
After getting his start as a camera assistant on a Kendrick Lamar music video, he’s worked across departments in the creative field. In the last decade, he’s directed ads, docs, and short films with clients like Adidas and the European Fine Art Foundation. Plus, he has premiered work in DOC NYC and Tribeca.
Most recently, however, he has gained recognition for his YouTube videos. A cross between personal vlogs and documentaries, these films focus on the psychology and culture of climbing. According to one commenter, they’re “like if Anthony Bourdain made a climbing-focused episode.”
