Edu Lalanda has spent fifteen years guiding travel and eight leading mountain expeditions. A former photographer, he still brings that eye to every route he designs. He never got along with cities or noise; as a teenager, the mountains were his escape, and over time they became his way of life. Today he lives in a mountain village near Vigo, Spain.
In 2018 he founded Mālamalama, a Hawaiian word meaning “light of knowledge.” Through it he leads small-group expeditions across Nepal, India, Tanzania, Peru, Argentina, Morocco and Kyrgyzstan. His work is about helping people experience the mountains with greater intensity and presence, at the pace and with the preparation and attention that requires.
For brands, Edu offers gear tested in real high-altitude conditions, his own visual storytelling, and something rare: direct gear feedback from every participant after each expedition.
