Christina Gindl is an Austrian big wave surfer, freediver and filmmaker based in Portugal. In February 2026, she became the first Austrian woman to surf the legendary big waves of Nazaré. Through her life in the ocean and her recent film SHE IN STORMS, Christina explores resilience, identity and the realities of being a woman in extreme sports. Her work combines her experience in demanding ocean environments with honest storytelling, while creating greater visibility for women in spaces where they are still often underestimated.
