ISPO Textrends Award 2025: The highlights of the textile innovations

This year, the ISPO Textrends jury did not meet in Munich, but on the French Riviera to evaluate the material innovations. The jury emphasized that transparency, traceability and measurable data are crucial in order to prove the actual performance and sustainability of fabrics. Certifications alone are not enough - evidence and test data are paramount.

The jury also showed that the gap between natural and synthetic fabrics is increasingly disappearing. Wool, silk and other traditional fibers are making a comeback in innovative cellulosic blends and techno-hybrids, while nanotechnologies in lightweight membranes and base layers are setting new standards for comfort and performance. Lightweight structures, recycled materials and a return to mono-fabrics enable efficient, sustainable textile production.
