The European Outdoor Group (EOG) has given an insight into the application process for the award of the outdoor fair from 2019 onwards. The awarding process is part of EOG's Vision 2020 (V2020) vision. This determines the long-term future of outdoor as Europe's fair for the outdoor industry.

The outdoor trade fair will continue to take place in Friedrichshafen in 2018. There were several applicants for the competition from 2019 onwards. From these, five trade fairs were invited by EOG to submit detailed applications: Messe München, Messe Friedrichshafen, Fiera Milano, Messe Hamburg and Messe Stuttgart.

These applications are currently being examined by an external and independent committee of experts. These experts will present their findings to the EOG's board of directors at the beginning of December 2017. The committee also examines whether the applications meet the criteria of Vision 2020.

Messen präsentieren Bewerbungen im Januar

All trade fairs meeting the specified criteria may present their applications during the EOG's Annual General Assembly. This will be on 27 January in the run-up to the ISPO Munich in Munich. After that, there will be an ballot process led by a leading European Provider of Electoral services, as the EOG announced. All application presentations will be made available to all EOG members after the January session.

Then the EOG members have time to get an exact picture of the applications. The final date by which voters must commit themselves to a candidate is still to be determined. The fair, which receives the majority of votes, will be the organizer of the outdoor fair from 2019 onwards.
