Performance and Comfort for Racers and Resort Skiers

ISPO Award Winner: Helly Hansen Kvitfjell Race Insulated Jacket

Created in collaboration with Team Telenor Alpine Norway, the Norwegian national alpine ski team, the Helly Hansen Kvitfjell Race Insulated Jacket for racers and resort skiers delivers performance stretch, waterproofing and warmth in a comfort-driven two-layer construction.

Both ski racers and resort skiers need their outerwear to allow maximum mobility and keep them warm, dry and comfortable on the mountain so that they can perform at their best. The Kvitfjell Race Insulated Jacket is designed by Helly Hansen specifically for this category of mountain users fulfilling their demands of performance and comfort on the hill.

This two-layer outer jacket features a HELLY TECH® outer layer that is both supremely waterproof and breathable, keeping a skier dry from the outside and comfortable on the inside. The jacket’s fabric features a 4-way stretch that allows the wearer peak mobility allowing them to push the boundaries of their performance to the max. For all-day comfort and warmth, the jacket is equipped with PrimaLoft® Black Ocean Recycled insulation, as well as an extra high collar and helmet-compatible hood to keep out the elements. This is moderated by strategically placed ventilation ports that can be opened and closed to counter changing environments both inside and outside the jacket.

Norwegian Heritage Style

“Our team thrives on working alongside professionals to bring meaning and quality to every design we create,” explains Louise Micolon, Product Manager for Ski at Helly Hansen. “With the Kvitfjell Race Insulated Jacket, we aimed to blend a mix of our brand design heritage with the team’s influence. The men’s and women’s jackets are cohesive, yet independent, both sporting the classic red, white and blue of the Norwegian flag to drive team and country pride. Knowing that we can provide the confidence these athletes need in their gear to perform at their best is what continues to drive us as a design team and brand.”

Helly Hansen has also taken into consideration the need for skiers to stay connected while on the mountain with the handy addition of Life Pocket+ ™ and phone leash to keep devices working for longer in the cold. The Kvitfjell Race Insulated Jacket has also been granted a bluesign®, the gold standard in sustainable fabrics which means this performance jacket in its making is less impactful on people and the planet.

The Kvitfjell Race Insulated Jacket will be available in both men’s and women’s styles in a range of colorways, in-store and online in Fall/Winter 2024.
