FIFA to pay millions for World Cup players: These leagues and teams to receive the highest payout
The players for the teams of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar have been selected: Each of the 32 qualified nations can select up to 26 players to participate. Usually, the clubs with which the professional soccer players are contracted release the players voluntarily. For this they receive hefty payouts from the FIFA. FIFA pays every club a participation fee for every player they contribute and every day played. Meaning, for the group stage alone, £177.800 million pounds are paid to 400 clubs across the world. We have researched what club is to receive the largest sum during the group stage, by researching and comparing all payments of the so-called World Cup Benefits Program.
The result: Manchester City is to receive the highest sum of £3.65 million. Close second is the current team of Robert Lewandowski, FC Barcelona, with a payout of £3.65 million. Germany’s FC Bayern Munich with £3.52 million comes in third, despite the team providing the most players to teams in the World Cup. Manchester United and FC Chelsea come in fourth and fifth place, each earning £3.17 million and £3.07 million respectively.
