Sports Direct International (SDI), the large British sporting goods retailer and owner of a wide range of sports and fashion brands, continues to invest in the sector. It has now become known that SDI recently bought a minority stake in the American Iconix Group. This company controls a gaggle of labels including Starter, Pony and Umbro and holds licenses like the one for “Peanuts”.
