“With these new products, we’re delivering on our promise to make it easy to capture and share engaging stories,” said Woodman. The entrepreneur, who has earned millions through GoPro, called GoPro Plus, the new cloud software, a “game-changing” solution.
GoPro Launches Two New Camera Models
The Hero 5 Black (around $400, available from October) is aimed mainly at professional action videographers. Features include 4K resolution shots, waterproof up to a depth of ten meters without a housing, simplified one-button control – and the cheaper model, the Hero 5 Session (around $300), also has these. But the bigger Hero 5 Black model promises higher quality photos (12MP), has integrated GPS and a battery that can be changed.
Users can expect “Hollywood-caliber stabilization” from the Karma drone, promised GoPro CEO Woodman, whose company once made the list of ISPO BRANDNEW award winners : “It's so easy to use, a beginner can have fun straight away.”
Both cameras come with voice control, so you can take videos hands-free. A short spoken command is enough to start or stop filming.
GoPro Shares Rise
With the new software it should be much easier to take and edit videos wherever you are. It “simplifies mobile, on-the-go editing, sharing and enjoyment,” according to Woodman.
The GoPro founder’s presentation seem to have met up to the expectations of the industry. In the last week, the US company, which has been listed on the stock exchange since June 2014, saw its shares rise, bucking a long downward trend.
