Odlo Joins the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC)

Odlo has entered the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) as its first Swiss company. The functional clothing manufacturer from the canton of Zug wants to take on environmental responsibility in its entire supply chain, the company shared. To this end, Odlo will implement the SAC’s sustainability measuring instrument, the Higg Index, which is meant to enable more sustainable decision-making processes in the supply chain.

More sustainable supply chains are the goal for the SAC.

“The Higg Index’s holistic approach helps us to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of our sustainability activities and to initiate corresponding measures for improvement,” said Andrea Gerber, Sustainability Manager at Odlo. “At the same time, we’re a part of a large network within the global textile industry.”

“Increasing influence on the clothing industry”

Jason Kibbey, CEO of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, welcomed Odlo’s involvement in the group. “With Odlo as a part of the Coalition, our influence in the clothing industry is increasing, and the change towards responsible-minded action by the industry is proceeding faster.”

Sports brands like Patagonia, Gore, Adidas, Arcteryx, Brooks, and Asics have also already committed to the principles of the SAC.
