ANWR chain reports strong sales growth in 2015

Mücke Group, the larger German chain of sports, footwear and fashion shops, saw its sales increase by 21 percent in 2015 compared with the previous year. Net sales amounted to 94.1 million euro. Turnover improved by 3 percent on a comp store basis. The results were attributed to 11 regular shops and three outlets for close-outs.

Sales increase through new stores and on a comp store basis: Schuh und Sport Mücke, (the store in Trosdorf, Germany pictured here).

The regular stores performed better (78.7 million euro, +23.9 percent) than the factory stores (15.4 million, +7.7 percent). In the course of last year the chain opened three more doors and expanded existing selling spaces. Earnings before interest, taxes and write-offs (Ebitda) were up by 31 percent and reached 8.1 million euro.

The Mücke Group plays a special role within ANWR, the international buying group for sports, footwear, fashion and leather goods retailers, which also includes Sport 2000 Germany. In 2014, it was acquired by the buying group itself. ANWR is now offering shares in Mücke to its affiliated retailers who are given the opportunity to become shareholders in the chain.
