At the Asia Pacific Snow Conference, held during ISPO BEIJING, it was clear that Nicholas Hale-Woods, CEO of the FWT, was extremely satisfied with the qualifier event in Hakuba. He announced the FWT's plans to expand within Asia. "We are confident that Hakuba 2018 will be a set date in the Freeride World Tour calendar", said Hale-Woods.
FWT comes to China and South Korea?
Nicholas Hale-Woods also assured us that Japan would soon no longer be the only Asian country to host an FWT event. "China and South Korea are the next nations on our agenda", said Hale-Woods.
The Freeride World Tour is the highest ranking event of the FWT and is currently comprised of five events per season, in which 50 riders participate. In 2017, the Freeride World Tour has already been hosted by Chamonix (France) and Vallnord-Arcalís, and will continue on to Fieberbrunn (Switzerland, March 3), Haines (Alaska, March 17) and Verbier (Switzerland, April 1).
