At the associations’ annual general meeting in January 2016, participants also decided to accept members from the technology sector into their ranks. The Chairman John Jansen (Keen) and member of the Executive Board Antje von Dewitz (Vaude) are delighted: Gore, Pertex and PrimaLoft are three high-quality members to join the alliance.
“It no longer seemed logical to draw a distinction between brands and technology as all lines of business in our sector face with the same topics and challenges, and we can achieve far more together,” said EOG General Secretary Mark Held, who is expecting further growth thanks to the opening.
The EOG is an association uniting brands from the outdoor sector and aims to help companies work together more closely. The merger acts as a cooperation platform with the aim of strengthening the European outdoor market within the sporting goods industry.
