We think: Every now and then it needs good news. Especially from sports. In our Good News we serve you every week seven news that make our - and hopefully your - sports heart beat faster. Because the news is fun. Because they are trend-setting. Because they sprinkle a pinch of absurdity in a much too serious world. Or because they simply bring joy. The main thing is to be in a good mood - that's our motto in this news format. And we start right away. With thoughts on Lucilectric, proverbial ski pilots, a coach who obviously can't lose. And with Tom Brady, who makes ISPO dreams come true.

01

Because She Is a Girl...

Silke Sinning, thank you very much - for the first time we had to think of German duo Lucilectric and their 90s hit "Weil ich ein Mädchen bin" (Because I'm a girl) during a dry election. As the song says so cheerfully: "No backtalk man, because I win anyway". And that's exactly how self-confidently the sports education professor appeared against the gray eminence of the German Soccer Association, Rainer Koch, at the DFB's national convention. Koch felt untouchable as vice president. But then Sinning shone with her performance, the eternal Koch fluffed and finally Germany has a soccer official with format. Because she wins anyway.

02

From Ice Star to Ice Star Maker

She would have loved to stand on the ice once again at the Olympics in Beijing, but found no suitable partner. Now Olympic figure skating champion Alyona Savchenko is back, at least as a coach. The 38-year-old from Ukraine had won gold for Germany in 2018. She will work in the future, however, for the Netherlands. "It is a great challenge to bring figure skating in the Netherlands to a higher level. I have that ambition," Savchenko says. Honestly, we knew the Dutch so far only as shiny speed skaters - now Savchenko also makes them dance on the ice.

03

This Is Solidarity

This is how solidarity works: The Bavarian State Sports Association offers refugees from Ukraine emergency accommodation in its four sports camps. These are usually used by various clubs for training camps. Now the accommodations in Inzell, at Spitzingsee, in Regen and Bischofsgrün are a first home for war refugees. "In our strong solidarity community, we want to actively help the refugees from Ukraine to assist them in this humanitarian catastrophe," explained association president Jörg Ammon.

04

Tom Brady Makes ISPO Dreams Come True

Tom Brady, we are flattered! It's been two weeks since we recommended your comeback here for a sold-out stadium in Munich at the guest game of your Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Germany. And poof, our idea becomes reality. You're playing again and will be in Munich in the fall. Even FC Bayern is happy about that. "See you soon in Munich" tweeted Thomas Müller - Müller will certainly have already sought tickets to experience Brady at the NFL appearance.

05

Ski Flyer with Sun after Rain

After rain comes sun... Dear German ski jumpers, if the saying did not already exist, we would have to invent it for you. As often this season, at the Ski Flying World Championships in Vikersund it looked bleak at first for Karl Geiger, Markus Eisenbichler and co.. But success came in the end. This time it was a strong silver medal in the team competition after botched individual starts. For the next season, however, we have another proverb on our wish list for the ski eagles: Then we wish for all sweetness and light.

06

He Is a Bad Loser

We celebrate a man who is obviously bad at losing: Gregg Popovich is now the coach in the US Basketball League NBA with the most wins. Unbelievable 1336 times Popovich, who coaches the San Antonio Spurs, won meanwhile. The 73-year-old was rather uncomfortable with the hype surrounding it. "Something like that doesn't belong to an individual. Basketball is a team sport." Humility gains more than pride - another point for Popovich.

07

Center for Safe Sport

This helps against abuse in sports: Still this year, there will be an independent central contact point for those affected. Under the leadership of the Federal Ministry of the Interior, representatives from politics, sports and society agreed on the Establishment of a center for Safe Sport. Finally, many will say. But we are pleased that this is one of the first socio-political projects of the coalition agreement on the way, and that politicians come together with the sports associations to make this possible.
