Regatta announced that it was awarded yesterday the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2012. Given every year to companies in all sectors on the British Queen’s birthday, this is one of the U.K.’s most prestigious accolades for business performance. The only other British company remotely involved in the sporting goods sector to have received this year’s award is Aquapac International, a London-based firm that makes waterproof cases, bags and pouches for the protection of mobile phone, tablets and other items in the course of outdoor activities. Regatta and its Dare 2b sub-brand raised their sales outside the U.K. by 152 percent over the last six years. The award also recognized the company’s investment in its staff. Regatta’s sales in over 45 countries outside its domestic market now account for over 40 percent of the turnover. The company has dedicated sales offices for the Republic of Ireland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Italy, Finland, the Czech Republic and Israel. The company is also expanding into Russia and the U.S.
