Excerpt ABS(Radio-controlled
activation of avalanche airbag
system)
(B5.426) At ISPO 2009 ABS Peter
Aschauer GmbH introduces a radio-controlled activation system. If one airbag
within one group is triggered all other can be activated at the same time. The
system can also be adjusted so that one person, for example, the guide, can
either trigger all airbags or select individual units to activate. This is a
decisive improvement in the functionality of avalanche airbags. Alpenheat
(B5.437) The heated jacket “Fire” by Alpenheat promises great comfort even on
cold days. It offers five heat settings with a special heat cell system made of
bio-thermal fibers integrated into the back of the piece. A push of the heat
regulation button, located in the jacket’s interior pocket, controls the
temperature and keeps the heat active for two to eight hours, depending on the
level. The heated jacket consists of a 3-layer, breathable softshell material,
is wind- and water-resistant, and can be machine-washed at 30°C. The heated
softshell jacket always keeps the body dry and comfortably warm. Blizzard
(B4.112/217) Start your all-mountain adventure with the MAGNUM 8.1 IQ-MAX. Robust
thanks to combined sandwich side cut construction, perfect edge grip and energy
transfer thanks to the innovative IQ-MAX System, stability thanks to Powerframe
Technology – the all-mountain ski by BLIZZARD is at home in any terrain, and
performs dependably and accurately in any snow conditions. The multi-condition model distinguishes itself thanks to a balance ratio
of reasonable center width, optimal radius, perfect flex, and balanced
distribution of energy. The design is modern, elegant, and extremely
attractive. Bogner
(A4.126) The Indigo Collection "Fire" sets new standards in the winter
sports industry, Elements from high fashion paired with innovative technology
and traditional craftsmanship create products with the highest possible level
of performance. Skis, snowboard, helmet, apparel, accessories with a reptile
look. Edelrid
(B5.514) The first collapsible climbing helmet by EDELRID
is far ahead of the rest of the competition. Thanks to an innovative folding
mechanism the packing dimensions of the Madillo are close to 50 percent less
than conventional helmets. This hybrid helmet is broken down with only a few
hand movements and easily stowed in any backpack, leaving plenty of room for
other gear. Go Lite
(A5.431) One of the highlights of GoLite’s
backpack range is the Jam model. Part of the Ultra series of packs the Jam has
a great range of uses from general backpacking to ultra-light backpacking. Made
using Dyneema, a fabric which is 15 times stronger than steel, the Jam will
easily withstand any rough treatment that’s thrown at it. Featuring a brand new
back system the Jam, is now more comfortable than ever before while the
specially designed hip belt wings and adjustable sternum strap allow the pack
to remain perfectly in place with an even weight distribution. HI-TEC
(B6.214) 100 % Waterproof (WPi) - By enhancing each individual fiber
of the materials themselves and with particularly dense material such as
leather it is possible to engineer a 100% waterproof product. 100% Breathable - The treatment binds
invisibly (on a nano scale) to material fibers, enhancing them, rendering the
material as breathable after the process as before. Hydrophobic (HPi) - By enhancing
each individual fiber the shoe itself becomes protected, much less absorbent to
liquids and quicker drying. Lightweight
- A treated shoe does not absorb as much water in wet conditions and is on
average 35grams lighter than those with a membrane. Stay Cleaner - Like water, the treatment also
helps to repel dirt and reduce staining whilst the low surface energy prevents
long-term dirt and mud build up. Environment
Friendly - Non toxic, minute quantities of chemical are used during the
room temperature process ensuring virtually no waste of materials of energy in
comparison to dip application (DWR’s) or membrane technologies.
Odlo
(B2.202) The new line features a look from 1972, yet with the latest, high-tech
materials. The collection consists of a jacket, a mid-layer, knickerbockers
pants, gaiters, as well as long knee socks, and is available in three color
combinations. The collection is also an attractive lifestyle outfit and fan
product for fans of the 2010 Olympic Games, and the athletes themselves will
wear these pieces at events. Patagonia
(A5.407) For Fall 2009, Patagonia’s product development builds on recent
innovations and the new architecture of our Alpine and Lifestyle lines.
65% of Patagonia’s products will be recyclable (up from 45% in
Fall 2008). The Speed Ascent Jackets and Pants, our warmest wind- and
water-resistant climbing soft shells, provide stretch and outstanding
breathability for cold weather alpine climbing. The Speed Ascent
products have
an R2 lining welded to the interior face fabric to prevent shifting and
lap-glued seams to reduce bulk and weight. Recco
(A1.400) This new detector is an innovative rescue tool that combines the two
best search technologies – directional radar and traditional rescue beacon
receiver – into one compact, lightweight, hand-held unit. The new detector
allows a single rescuer to perform both a RECCO search and a beacon search
simultaneously. The ability to perform both the beacon search and RECCO search
at the same time is a significant benefit early in the rescue when only a few
rescuers must search large areas. Combining technologies makes rescue more
efficient and faster. Reusch
. (B2.404) X-TRAFIT product technology combines two characteristics that were
incompatible for a long time: optimal fit and high tactility with 100 %
protection against the weather. To date this technology was only used in motorcycle gloves. The further
improvement for the ski racing sector is a consistent step in a technology with
such high potential. Roces
(B3.408) The IDEA boot is setting a trend by solving ski industry issues and
concerns with children’s ski products. There is no other product on the market
like the IDEA 6-in-1 Kids Adjustable Ski Boot. The boot accommodates the growth
of a child’s foot from around toddler age to adolescence and adjusts in three
easy steps: open buckle, choose size and close lever. The simple adjustments
change length, width and cuff height and create maximum comfort for young skiers.
Salomon
(A1.212/315/B3.102/301) Bamboo has become an increasingly popular source material for ski and
snowboards. With its new “Shogun” Salomon presents the first Freeride ski made
of this exotic material. Thanks to Monocoque full wood core construction, edge
armour reinforcement, and a mid-layer of basalt, the Freeride ski is
state-of-the-art. The volcanic basalt stone is extremely pressure-resistance
thanks to its physical characteristics and is perfectly suited for ski
construction. The integrated layer lends the ski its special stiffness, running
smoothness, and great behavior on the slopes. Though the Semi Twin Tip loves to
ride outside the groomed runs. The partially transparent Asian-style design of
the Shogun not only looks really cool, but also allows a glimpse into the inner
workings of the Freeride ski. Spyder
(A3.402/B2.102) The new luxury segment specially for the ladies. “Uptown” is the logical
development of the more classic Platinum line in combination with a clever mix
of function and fashion. Downtown attracts those women who prefer plenty of
glamour and elegant looks. The Spyder signature line, for example, features
genuine Swarovski crystals! Yet no compromises are made in regards to function.
Vaude
(A4.320/B6.213) VAUDE’s new bag collection “Recycled” is made of PET plastic bottles.
The used bottles are cleaned, pulverized, and spun into yarn. This is the foundation for seven Recycled bags and two backpacks,
available in retail stores beginning spring 2009. In addition to their
ecological aspects the new models also offer many other advantages: the
shoulder bags “haPET“ and “torPET“ feature an integrated rain cover, padded
laptop pockets, and can be mounted on trolleys. Vital eco wear
(B2.234) So the first idea behind the establishment of Vital eco-wear was
to design sportswear for energetic adults and not just teeny-boppers. Secondly,
today's adult population is aware and sophisticated. They're into cutting-edge stuff.
Designing sportswear to flatter the mature body was not enough. It would have
to be cutting-edge in every way. So the next major decision for Vital
eco-wear was to use bio-functional fabrics and have the clothing designed,
engineered and molded not only to offer a superb fit, but to respond to the
body's needs – and even respond differently in different parts of the body. And
finally, reflecting today's awareness that we all have to do our part toward
protecting our world, Vital eco-wear is using organic fibers and
recycled materials. Adidas eyewear
(A3.504A) adidas eyewear presents its own laboratory at
its ispo winter 09 booth, where the critical features of the revolutionary ski
and snowboard goggle ID2 can be tested. By pressing a button visitors can
launch the demonstration. By using ID2 as an example, the special lab area
shows the impressive technology behind adidas eyewear athletic eyewear. Tests
include perfect vision, optimal protection, and ideal fit. Biodevices

best ever cross-country suits. Nitro Board
(A1.310/517) Misfit, the versatile Twin Tip for Backcountry to Park. New for season 09/10
with Rock Bands (basalt stringers longitudinal to the board’s axis for
more pop) and Ballistic Impact Panels (Kevlar plates in the binding area
for more balanced energy distribution). The special design feature is a
printable outerwear fabric on the top sheet, which can be freely decorated with
the supplied iron-on stickers. Zimtstern
(A2.313) The highest level of quality paired with unmistakable Zimtstern design.
Only the best fabrics and materials are used to create the bluesign®-certified
end products. bluesign® standard certifies the use of non-toxic materials,
eco-friendly production, and conscious use of natural resources. The Sympatex
3-layer laminate guarantees a water column of 20’000mm with 20’000 g/m2/24h breathability.
EVOC
(B3.BN18) Protect your back wherever you ride! EVOC Sports brings another world
premiere to the ispo winter 2009: the ultra-light protector backpack series FREERIDE.
The integrated protector is detachable and can be worn separately, for those times
when you want to ski without backpack, but not forego protection. The series
offers backpacks for a number of applications – for skiing, snowboarding,
cycling, or more. Fischer
(B4.101/209) The model line Viron focuses on a guarantee of safety, fun, and
performance. In the ski segment the company applied a new technology, the “Dynamic
Grip Control“. This technology is a triple-slit ski insert with elastomere
elements. This flexible torsion control ensures that the ski adjusts
accordingly to slope and snow conditions. Increased edge grip during carving
provides more stability and safety for athletic all-round skiers. FjällRäven
(A6.201) The first fleece jacket with eco-friendly technology to control odors: Bamboo
Charcoal. The material is 79 % PES / 21 % Bamboo. Ultra-small particles of
bamboo charcoal are integrated into the polyester fibers during the spinning
process and remain securely anchored. Contrary to other renewable resources
(corn, soy) bamboo is not part of
the human food chain. It prevents odors, is breathable, soft, and eco-friendly.
Bamboo Charcoal works like active charcoal and can bind odors until it reaches
a saturation point. The “odor-prevention power” is regenerated simply by
washing. Gore
(C3.337) From
the outside the new GORE™ Comfort Mapping jackets look extremely
neat, seamless, lightweight and very high quality. On the inside, however, they
are all the more complex. Their outstanding functionality, geared towards the
needs of the various parts of the body, is immediately noticeable. For the
jacket’s interior designers are able to select from a variety of high-tech
liners, distinguished by the level of insulation, antibacterial function,
breathability, or skin sensors. The different outer and inner parts of the
jacket are then securely bonded together at the garment manufacturing plant
using the new lamination technology. As with all garments
engineered with durably waterproof and highly breathable GORE-TEX®
laminates, only when these jackets have passed stringent internal tests and
extensive field tests will Gore back them with its "GORE-TEX®
GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY™" quality promise. K2
(A1.206) Auto Binding
Technology – K2’s
Auto Bindings are unique on the snowboard market. So unique that they won the
coveted ISPO Boardsports Award in 2008. Toe and ankle strap are fastened with
one quick hand motion: one lever, two straps! Thanks to the clever Auto
Technology K2 offers a whole new generation of strap bindings with extreme
lightweight performance and unbeatable speed for 2009/10. Kamik
(A5.402) On the forefront of fashion: Kamik puts even more faith in functional
footwear that also looks great in the city or worn with jeans. The classic
leather shoes will wool lining are very much in demand and will be joined by
new, modernized versions in winter 09/10. The newly interpreted “Packboots” are
lighter, more narrow, and available in a number of trendy color variations. Despite
their low weight the EVA soles are extremely warm. Material and color
combinations and innovative materials, or rediscovered classics such as felt
provide a wide range of trendy applications. Leki
(B3.100/300) Thanks to the success of the newly designed
“4-in-1” cross country pole basket from last year the company decided to
develop a “2-in-1” basket for all backcountry enthusiasts and snowshoe walkers.
It features a combination of the basic cross-country basket with a larger
diameter shell. Easily adjustable to a variety of snow conditions, the basic
basket prevents sinking in on groomed trails or packed snow, while the
expansion basket offers a larger contact area in powder. Practical: the
adjustment tool can also be used as a shopping cart chip in any supermarket. Powderhorn
(A4.406) The highlights of the collection are the down jackets “Gunpowder Jacket”
(men) / “Powdersmoke Jacket” (women) made of Toray. They are lined with a
combination of 80 % down and 20 % rayon, with integrated ceramic elements.
These elements efficiently store heat and transfer it back to the body when it
cools down. This storage effect results in a reduction of the amount of down
needed and provides the jacket with a less puffed-up look. Finished with
quilted seams in the woman’s version and a cool cut for men these high-tech
jackets offer fashionable designs. Especially noteworthy is the elaborate,
newly designed inner life of the jackets. Pockets for goggles and MP3 players
are printed with graphics of a first-generation walkman or Seventies’ style
goggles. Such details inspire a slightly ironic recollection of one’s own past.
PYUA
(B1.400/B3.BN2) Christ.Rose Sport GmbH was founded in 2007 with the clear purpose of
developing and manufacturing of eco-conscious sportswear. A son, a professional
skier in the footsteps of his parents, and a daughter who is a successful
fashion designer, and the founders’ active life in combination with a high
consciousness for environmental protection all influence the high standards they
demand from their sportswear and its production. Therefore, Christian and Rosi launched
Christ.Rose, a sustainable sportswear brand, and the world’s first brand which
produces its apparel exclusively from materials derived from a closed-loop
recycling process. Scott
(A3.209) Scott presents new technological highlights in the glove sector with the
models Bolt (unisex) and Cocoon (m/w). Thanks to X-TRAFIT™ Technology by Gore
the best possible grip is guaranteed without compromising on comfort and
flexibility. This product technology uses membranes and linings that are glued
together. Specially developed grip tape bonds the membrane and the outer
materials of the glove in the finger and palm areas. This guarantees optimal
grip, freedom of motion and maximum comfort. Skylotec
(A5.324/B3.BN40) “SKYFIT“ SC 112, is a newly developed climbing harness. While you still
have to fumble when donning other harnesses, “SKYFIT” solves this problem with
an integrated elastic band that adjusts to your hip. The harness is adjusted
quickly with the help of a quick fastening system, and you are ready to go.
Details, such as reflecting material, a HAUL loop and options to attach
additional material karabiners complete the “SKYFIT“. The harness is also
available with elastic leg straps, in the version SC 111. Suunto
(C3.346) The comprehensive system allows individualized training and monitors
performance levels in any terrain. While running uphill it is helpful to know
how far away the peak is, how long it will take to get there, and the level of
physical performance. SUUNTO presents the t4c GPS Pack, a customized exercise
system for athletes who use varying training methods on different terrains. The
t4c GPS Pack by SUUNTO, the leading manufacturer of precision sports
instruments, is an intelligent exercise solution that ensures that athletes are
always aware of their level of performance. Togu
(C4.207A) TOGU offers a complete solution for Functional Training. The TOGU
FT-Coach not only offers a comprehensive concept for functional and effective
training, developed in cooperation with experts. The manufacturer from Prien/Chiemsee
also supplies the appropriate fitness equipment for the requirements of functional
training. These can be used anywhere with a low financial investment: at the
studio, hotel, while traveling, or at home. Toni Sailer
(A4.306) To distinguish the two lines even more, the 35-part SPORT collection
gets an even more athletic and clean look. The new look is achieved thanks to
small laser-contrast details as well as with zippers that were almost invisibly
applied with the help of laser cutters. This all creates the form-fitting and
body-hugging cuts typical for Toni Sailer Sports and offers a futuristic retro
look. The SPORT collection utilizes a newly developed material as well as a
lightweight 4-way stretch. In addition, Toni Sailer Sports features its first
ever cashmere fleece for women. Schöffel
(B6.306) Schöffel sports apparel brought new strength to the technical outdoor
segment with the expansion of its technical collection for fall/winter 2009. Cross-over
aspects in particular define the multi-functional, athletic products for
mountaineering and ski touring, as well as snowshoeing. Innovative materials
and finishes are intelligently used for a variety of requirements. The
appropriate cuts and patterns guarantee unimpeded range of motion. The focus is
on three areas, insulated jackets, softshells, and fleece. Elan
(B3.402/505) Elan presents the Speedwave series with the second generation of WaveFlex
– now even used by alpine ski racers. The special feature is that the waves now
run from the front under the binding to the back of the ski, which results in a
balanced, soft flex and higher torsional strength. The four new models are
suitable for long as well as short turns. The flagship, Speedwave 14 features a
full load of WaveFlex, the integrated Fusion binding, Power Woodcore, Dual Titanium
Reinforcement and racing side cut. The ladies will also benefit from the
improved WaveFlex technology: a higher number of waves in the front of the ski
are a sign of softer ski flex and maximum torsional strength. The rear of the
ski has fewer waves and thus a harder flex. It is beneficial for all women who
generally lean a little more backward while skiing. Palmer
(A1.337) FLF is geared to turns skiing or snowboarding into a relaxed and
effortless experience. It reduces the pressure on the knee and is less tiring
for the entire body. The patented FLF shape makes carving at lower speeds
possible. The ski quickly reacts to the smallest control impulses. An exclusive
feature of FLF is the optimized interplay of the side cut radius with the
progression of ski tip and end. After the turn is initiated Feels Like Flying reduces
the pressure on the edge towards the tips and ends and prevents that they dig
into the snow during the remainder of the turn. Rossignol
(B5.102/309) The highlight is a new, eco-friendly ski:
Attraxion Echo fulfills all ecological goals Rossignol has set itself, such as
the use of renewable and recycled materials, eco-friendly manufacturing, local
production, and ISO9001-certified production methods. Rossigol strove for six
environmental goals with this model: 1. use of natural materials; 2. reduction
of pollutants; 3. use of recycling materials; 4. use of exiting materials
through direct recycling; 5. support of local production; and 6. controlled
manufacturing plants (the ski is manufactured in a ISO9001-certified plant). Lacroix
(A4.332) French top ski brand Lacroix, producer of
extravagant, stylish high-tech skis with materials such as titanium, exotic
woods, mother of pearl, since 1967, introduces its top model XR HD in a new
rental version. Highlights: sandwich construction, Titanal, Kevlar, Carbon
Force LX Technology, and a 10-percent lighter construction. Zai
(A4.134) The top model Spada was improved with a 155 mm
long carbon fiber stone core. New is the UV-resistant black natural rubber
combination. A window provides a glimpse of the gneiss stone core. New
anti-rust top edges protect the ski even better against scratches and dents. Spada
Biasca is now also available in 160, Spada Andeer in 174 cm lengths. The powder collection, with its former maximum
172 cm length and 82 cm width, was expanded by a third length, 192 cm. The
remarkable negative pre-tension, also called Rocker, was also considerably
improved in all models. Lange
(B5.102/309) Blaster is Lange’s new,
target-group-overlapping product line featuring the innovative Climbmatic. This
technology makes walking considerably easier. Thanks to foot scanning
technology for last production these models are very comfortable. The line
offers boots for groomed run, as well as all-mountain, and advanced skiers, and
focuses on comfort and user friendliness. The boots also benefit from Lange’s
extensive know-how from the racing segment. The result: more control, for
experienced racers, young racers, Freeriders, advanced carvers or leisure
skiers alike. Tyrolia
(B3.308/413) LiteRail – the successor for Railflex Lite – is
a compact ski binding system offered by the market leader in alpine ski binding
for retail as well as rental, available for kids, youths, and women. The three
variations of the adjustable centerpiece in the base cover a wide range of sole
lengths from 199 to 347mm, and are adjustable without tools. The LiteRail base
is overall lower, narrower, and looks considerably more integrated. The new
construction makes it possible to mount it on skis as short as 87cm without
excessive impact on the ski. Gibbon Slacklines
(B3.BN22) Gibbon Slacklines offer fun, healthy exercise
and challenge. Our goal is to make this great sport accessible to people of all
ages and physical condition. We offer 3 new models, appropriate for a variety
of requirements: all Gibbon Slacklines are SPORTGERÄT TÜV-GEPRÜFT (certified by

(A1.218) Fanatic Snowboards presents a limited edition
all-mountain snowboard with bamboo – even in the side cut – from its UNION series.
The poplar wood core comes from sustainable sources and there is a special
feature: for each tree cut a new one is planted. Perfect performance is
guaranteed by an unusually high number of honeycomb elements – a honeycomb
construction also used in the Airbus A 380. The weight reduction provides more
room for other high-quality materials and features. In the binding area
integrated EVA padding provides more softness and improved edge grip control. bleed clothing
(B3.BN08) Conventional fashion usually makes nature bleed.
With an ironic name and a new concept the young label bleed strives to keep its
impact on nature as low as possible. The brand exclusively uses natural
materials, such as bamboo, soy, or cotton from ecological sources. Bleed proves
with its latest collection that it is possible to design very stylish sports
and streetwear. It even received one of this year’s BrandNewAwards in the
category Style. The focus is on athletic designs, the necessary functionality
is covered by breathable and anti-bacterial natural fibers. The company also puts
great store in keeping the impact of transportation on the environment as low
as possible. Besson
(B1.108) The traditional Italian company Besson expands
its core business of technical, functional skiwear by two new lines for winter
09/10: the athletic-elegant Ski Fashion line and the fashionably extravagant Sportswear
line. There is a special homage to Giuliano
Besson’s original racing suit by from 1976. It was redesigned with new
materials and an insulating lining, while keeping its original look – the
distinctive, outer pads on arms and elbows. The vintage two-piece is available in its
original colors azure and dark blue as well as green. 29/MK/vH
