- Quality standard with three levels
- Continuing education programs in cooperation with Sportsella
- Active support for sports retailers
Sportsella has taken up the challenge to further improve the consulting expertise
of sports retailers. By now, Sportsella’s product training program is
well known to sports retailers. As an addition and continuation of this
training, sports retailers will now also be able to obtain a quality
certificate, granted by Sportsella in cooperation with ispo, the world’s
largest sporting goods trade show, based in Munich. The ispo certificate has three
quality levels: “Approved”, “Qualified”, and “Certified” status.
The “Approved” status, the first level, is a clear sign for consumers
that the retailer is a true sports specialty dealer, and not some questionable hawker.
For example, this status is automatically awarded to all SPORT 2000 retailers
upon registration.
A sports retailer will receive “Qualified” status as soon as staff
members have successfully completed certain basic training courses. To the consumer
this status means that this store offers competent consultation.
The third and last level of the ispo certificate, “Certified”, is
awarded to a sports retailer at the end of a calendar year, if staff members
have graduated from additional training programs and have been to an ispo trade
show.
Consultation is the most important argument in the fight against
discount and online stores. A high level of staff expertise increases customer
satisfaction, customer loyalty, and consequently improves long term sales. The
new certificate allows sports retailers to emphasize their product and sports
expertise, and visually announce it to potential customers.
ispo not only endorses the certification of sporting goods stores, but also actively supports the new generation of
sports retailers. The ispo winter 09 will add the new ispo/sport INVEST career
day to its popular, proven ispo trainee project. This is a new platform initiated by Sport INVEST
Search CE GmbH in cooperation with Messe München GmbH, to be launched at the
upcoming ispo winter 09, held from February 1st to 4th, 2009 in Munich. In particular, the
event will cover the subjects of encouraging new talent, targeted career
planning, as well as keeping qualified personnel within the sporting goods
industry. The side event “Careers in the Sports Industry” is open to consumers
and trade show visitors, and will be held on Sunday, February 1st, 2009 at the International Congress Center,
ICM, at the New Munich Trade Fair.
