Winter sports are growing in China, but they’re still in the beginnings of their development: The ski resorts are oriented towards beginners, and the sales of sporting goods still have considerable potential.
The French MND Group, technical outfitter for ski resorts, has announced an absolute mega deal in China at ALPITEC China. MND will be completely outfitting the future luxury ski resort “Snowland,” 130 kilometers northwest of Beijing. The agreement will initially run for a duration of three years, and has a volume of 110 million euros.
The deal makes MND responsible for the construction of all ski lifts, snow cannons, and safety equipment for the entire resort. The 2,100-meter Snowland Abode Holiday Resort will stretch across the counties of Chicheng and Chongli into the province of Hebei, and will offer winter athletes a total of 55 kilometers of slopes across 160 square kilometers.
