Klaus Helmrich, member of the Siemens executive board, emphasized the scope of the cooperation with Adidas. “The Adidas Speedfactories show where the path of production in the future is headed,” he said.
With the help of production in a Speedfactory, Adidas aims to be able to react quickly to individual customer requests. The first Adidas plant in Ansbach is set to incorporate the series production of sports shoes from 3D printers in the fall. Another Adidas Speedfactory is currently being established in Atlanta.
“Our consumers [...] demand the highest degree of individuality and quality,” said Gerd Manz, Vice President of Technology Innovation at Adidas, on the cooperation with Siemens. “With Speedfactory, we can completely rethink conventional processes and meet these demands.”
