Selling new clothes, donating old clothes – this combination in one room is definitely unusual. As part of its cooperation with FairWertung registered association, Vaude has set up collection boxes in all 15 of its stores in Germany.

The outdoor retailer from Tettnang, Germany wants to encourage its customers to “hand over their used clothes responsibly”, shares Antje von Dewitz, Vaude CEO.



Second hand clothes for those in need

“We think it’s important that charities benefit from this and redistribute good-quality second-hand Vaude products to people in need or sell them and channel the proceeds into their projects”, she says.

FairWertung is a Germany-wide network of over 100 charitable organizations.
