In February 2006, Robin participated in his first cross-country ski race, the König Ludwig Lauf’s “Mini Kini”. That spring, he joined the Hochvogel Munich ski club and began training on a regular basis. Starting with regional competitions, Robin worked his way up to the German Cup and finally to the German Championships. In 2011, he decided to turn his hobby into a career and joined the mountain infantry in Berchtesgaden. With the start of his military service in July 2011, Robin also began training at the Olympic Training Center in Ruhpolding. For the upcoming season, he set himself an entirely new goal: to compete in the world’s longest cross-country ski race.
